Divide & Conquer - Abigail Roux

IL LIBRO IN PILLOLE: Ty e Zane, awwww! ç_ç ♥♥♥

Cattiva Abigail! Cosa ti abbiamo fatto noi poveri lettori? :((

Tanta ironia, tanta tenerezza, tanto erotismo, tanto amore, tanti sviluppi, tante evoluzioni..

It would distract him from the fact that they, or even worse, just Ty, might be leaving, and the latter possibility made Zane's chest tighten uncomfortably. It had become more and more painful, being apart from Ty and not knowing where he was or whether he was safe or how long he‟d be gone. Not being able to watch his back.

“Sure you still want dessert before dinner?” “You‟re not dessert, Zane. You're the main course."

He wanted Ty with him, wanted him badly. Needed him as a partner, and not just at work. Craved him as a lover more than he‟d ever jonesed over heroin. Connected with him in so many ways that Zane couldn‟t see a way to untangle himself and didn‟t even want to try.

He loved Ty Grady with all there was to give of his heart, and in the end, all it had taken was one wink for Zane to finally come to terms with it.

But the sensation of being jealous, no matter how slight it was, was something foreign to Ty. He almost liked it, safe in the knowledge that Zane was completely unaware of the attention.

Zane bit his lip for a moment before answering. “I‟d really like you to hold me for a while,” he whispered. It felt odd to say it like that, something so innocuous yet meaningful.

Ty took his hand and pulled at him. “Come dance with me, Zane,” he requested quietly.

Zane heard himself whisper, “I love you.”

It means you care enough to stick around and take care of me even when it‟s driving you crazy,” Zane tried to explain.

Zane didn‟t think he could bear to lose Ty now. He loved Ty. Painfully. Desperately. But now wasn‟t the time to finally get his head out of his ass and admit it, not after what Ty had said tonight.

“Right now all I care about is you.” Ty stopped at the top of the stairs and turned to look down at him. He stayed there until Zane was just a step below him. “You should try saying that more often.” Zane looked up to meet his eyes seriously. “I will.”

“But I wouldn‟t go anywhere even if I could. I‟d rather be here with you than somewhere else alone.”

“Ty.” Zane‟s even, soothing tones finally broke on the short gasp of his name. “I love you and I‟m scared I‟ll lose you. Please don‟t leave me alone in the dark.”

They‟d both been so tired that all they could do was strip and collapse into bed, where Ty had burrowed into Zane‟s arms, wrapped around him like a limpet, and kissed him gently over and over between their whispers of achingly tender words that were so difficult to say in the light of day, until they‟d drifted off to sleep.

Trama Baltimore, Maryland, is a city in alarming distress. Rising violence is fanning the flames of public outrage, and all law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, are catching blame. Thus the FBI’s latest ideas to improve public relations: a municipal softball league and workshops for community leaders. But the new commitments just mean more time Special Agents Ty Grady and Zane Garrett have to spend apart when they’re happily exploring how to be more than by-the-book partners. Then the latest spate of crime explodes in their faces—literally—throwing the city, the Bureau, and Ty and Zane’s volatile partnership both in and out of the office into chaos. They’re hip-deep in trouble, trying to track down bombers and bank robbers in the dark with very few clues, and the only way to reach the light at the end of the tunnel together requires Ty and Zane to close their eyes and trust each other to the fiery end.
